1 - Appreciate Everything
There is no need to be picky in what you appreciate. If you look around you, there is beauty in every day and there is always something to be thankful for. To begin a habit of showing gratitude, you should begin by noticing and being thankful for every little beautiful thing in your life. Even something as simple as appreciating the sun shining or the blue sky, you should always practice gratitude in every day life for every single thing that you’re thankful for. There is always always something out there that you can be grateful for. The key is keeping your eyes open and appreciating every opportunity that comes your way.
2 - Find gratitude in negative situations
Gratitude doesn’t always mean being thankful about positive situations or things. Often, bad experiences can give you something to be grateful for. When you go through a bad time, it often highlights how good everything else is in your life, and that’s when you can really start practicing gratitude for all the great things in your life. Think about your past experiences and how they have shaped the person that you are today. Although some experiences are bad, everything happens for a reason, and something good will come out of every bad experience. Be grateful for those good things that come out of every experience.

When you write don all of your thoughts, you are forced to think greatly about the subject and so you will be forced to focus on everything that you’re grateful for whilst also being distracted from everything that you’re not grateful for. Journaling is great for doing daily, weekly, or monthly depending on which process works best for you.
5 - Volunteer and help people
Volunteering is a great way to practice more gratitude, especially if you choose to help people less fortunate than yourself. It may act as a reminder of all the things that you take for granted every day. Volunteering reinforces positivity and will make you feel happier, thus improving our ability to practice gratitude. Helping others helps you as it has been proven that volunteering to help people improves your well-being. Being a volunteer is one of life’s most rewarding things. Knowing that you’re helping people who are less fortunate than yourself give you a feeling that makes you happy and that is a really rewarding feeling.
6 - Express your gratitude out loud
Sometimes it’s not enough to practice gratitude internally and keep your thankful thoughts to yourself. By thanking others out loud, you can increase your feelings of gratitude. Practicing gratitude on other people can often lead to positive vibes being pushed your way, which will always make you feel like a happier person.
